Taking the 4 Waterfalls Walk in Brecon Beacons is something I would highly recommend anyone doing, the scenery, the waterfalls, not to mention the exercise involved.

Around about the time when I climbed Pen-y-Fan with a friend of mine, the day before that we went to a place called Gwaun Hepste in South Wales, to undertake the 4 Waterfalls Walk which is a remarkable place and kinda makes you think Fairies should live there. I can’t exactly remember how long it took us to complete this Trail but I do remember thinking how unfit I was and that I needed to get more energy. It is a Challenge for the beginners of hiking, but it is really worth it.

Altho the walk to the waterfalls is very easy don’t let that fool you, once you reach the first stage its all up hill or down hill from there, depending on the route you have chosen. It is advised to always take a spare pair of shoes or trainers. I’m sure you can guess why! Wouldn’t want to be walking with wet feet now would you? Take a nice packet lunch and take time to admire the scenery, They have been here for 10’s of thousands of years and I am sure they won’t just disappear, so take your time and have fun.

If your daring enough why not go for a swim? There is plenty of platforms to jump off and easily accessible banks to put all your dry cloths whilst you swim. If your the adventurous kind of person and want to see what this is all about by walking threw the river itself, you should check out Gorge Walking with Black Mountain Activities. They offer a wide range of things to do from Kayaking, Rock Climbing and Gorge Walking, they are based in Brecon Beacons National Park.

Take the time to enjoy this place and discover many other things a long the way, even if you fancy a little bit of Geocaching!
